From 15th May to 14th June, the South Tyrolean Wine Road will provide the setting for a truly special event: the South Tyrolean Wine Road Weeks! The Bozen Wine Tasting event, breakfast with spumante, wine seminars and tasting sessions of Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir and Vernatsch, wine tasting comparing different Lagreins, wine events on the subject of wine and crafts, gastronomic and culinary delicacies and lots more will be taking place at various historic and architecturally interesting venues.
The grande finale of the South Tyrolean Wine Road Weeks will be the Wine Cellar Night on 14th June, when wine cellars, wine farms and private vintners from along the Wine Road will all open their doors for the night and give you the opportunity to experience different ‘wine routes’ by means of shuttle bus. You’ll be in for a surprise – we look forward to seeing you!

All About Wine at Kraiterhof – exibition
15th may–13th june | Andrian
Over the course of the entire South Tyrolean Wine Weeks there will be an exhibition of wine making machinery at Kraiterhof house. Weekly guided tours will be held to give you an insight into the history and work that goes into wine farming in South Tyrol.
86th Bozen Wine Tasting event
15th–17th may | Schloss Maretsch, Bozen
300 top quality wines from the year 2007 and reserve collections from 2005 will be the focus of this traditional and most important tasting event of South Tyrolean wines; 60 local producers will be presenting their vintages to wine connoisseurs. The wine party, taking place after the opening ceremony, is an absolute must for wine enthusiasts of all ages.
Cooking with Gewürztraminer
16th–25th may | Tramin
Focal point here is the most famous of all the white wines from South Tyrol: the Gewürztraminer! During the Wine Road Weeks, chefs from Tramin will be cooking up and serving tasty variations on dishes made with and accompanying this wine. You will be able to enjoy the wines and dishes both before and after the tours of Tramin’s vineyards and cellars, churches and village museum.
The Art of Glass-blowing

The International Day of Museums could become a day out for all the family at the South Tyrol Museum of Wine. Visitors of all ages will get in free of charge and be able to see how glass jewellery, glasses and glass figures are made. Günther Brandt from Innsbruck comes from seven generations of glass-blowers and will tell the history of glass and its fragility, whilst children will be invited to lend a hand in its making.
Music & Wine at Freienfeld House

‘He who doesn’t love wine and song will be a fool his whole life long’ - with the ‘Titla´’ group from the Pustertal valley you will get the chance to hear folk music in a special setting, as they play ‘Folk auf Südtirolerisch’ to entertain your musical ear. Providing the appropriate wine and refreshment for the occasion will be the Young Farmers Association.
Introduction to wine tasting techniques, wine seminar organised by the Wine Connoisseurs’ Club

In this seminar you will learn the techniques involved in describing and evaluating wine. You will also learn the language of wine tasting in order to become a master of wine jargon. You will be able to put your new-found knowledge into practice and impress other wine enthusiasts when you taste two white wines and two red wines at the wine tasting session at the end.
The “Weinritt” – journey through the world of wine

Take the minibus out to six wine cellars to taste over 20 wines and enjoy a 5-course menu. The landscape, cultural sites and culinary treats will make this journey a memorable experience.
South Tyrolean Pinot Nero Days
22nd–23rd may | 15.00–22.00 | Neumarkt and Montan
The 10th South Tyrolean Pinot Noir days are unique throughout Italy and pay homage to the ‘King of the Red Wines’. You will find a fitting setting in the Pinot Noir villages of Neumarkt and Montan, where this noble grape has been cultivated since the mid-19th century.
An international jury has chosen the participating Pinot Noirs to be tasted.
Organic Wine Day

The organic wine farms of Hof Gandberg in Eppan and Strickerhof in Frangart will be the venue here. The ‘Organic Wine Farming’ presentation
at 16.00 will lend you an insight into the world of organic wine farming. Go on tours through the vineyards, take part in wine tasting sessions and eat ‘apfelkiachl’ cake to the sound of genuine folk music.
St. Urban’s Night

St. Urban is the patron saint of wine in the German-speaking world. Come rain or shine, St. Urban’s Day will see wine cellars in Terlan serving their excellent wines along with local produce in Kirchgasse street. They look forward to seeing you there!
Lagrein Through the Ages

‘Wein&Kultur Auer’ and ‘Happacherhof’ Agricultural College invite you to take part in a guided tour and Lagrein tasting session:
17.00 – Happacherhof: guided tour through the vineyards of the Happacherhof with the focus on cultivation methods and the Lagrein

19.00 – in the Aula Magna: tasting session of 2005 to 1990 and older Lagrein vintages, accompanied by specially selected Spanish ham and Lagrein cheese, where you will learn more about the history of Lagrein.

Breakfast with spumante at Haderburg castle

The steep, narrow path to Haderburg castle winds its way up through the undergrowth, but every step of this 15-minute morning
workout will be worth it. You will be greeted by salmon, fresh bread and light, pearly Brut from the Haderburg Alois Ochsenreiter spumante cellar. The ‘Salurner Böhmische’ group will provide musical accompaniment. Register before 29th May 2008.
