The most important construction material is not the wood but, as quite typical for the south, the sandstone. The stone-framed double bow windows with the slim middle column, the stone stairways, bays, turrets and Loggias developed from the Italian renaissance style. 500 years ago Venetian and Tuscan master builders worked in this region and created the so called "Überetscher style".
